Dear Baby Bug-
Mommy did a little preliminary matchmaking for you yesterday and was finally able to meet Mr. Finn Hoyle. Bug, you will not be disappointed- he is a handsome little guy and his mommy says he is looking forward to you arriving so that you guys can play together! Finn was able to come home from the hospital a week ago and Mommy was finally able to go see him, Becky, Randy, and Ella yesterday for the first time. He is quite the little sleeper and just slept like a little angel most of the time that I was there. It was fun to finally meet him after spending so much time with Becky anticipating his arrival. It seems surreal that he is finally here and that you will be here in just a little over 10 weeks (give or take- it's all up to you!). It makes me think of how much fun we will have once you are here and all the great times we will hopefully have with Finn and Becky while Mommy and Becky are off of school.
I am really looking forward to this weekend because Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Rand are coming to visit. We are planning on going to Daddy's game tomorrow night so Grandma and Grandpa can see his team play. Saturday will be super exciting- we get to see you again! We are having a 3-D ultrasound so that we can see your little face which will hopefully tide us over until we actually get to meet you in April. Daddy is giving this ultrasound to me for Valentine's Day, and I can't think of a better gift than seeing your beautiful face- so you better cooperate. I hope Daddy likes the gift I got for him- I can't tell you what it is because he might read this and it will spoil the surprise. I'll let you know what he thinks and I will also write to you later this weekend to show you your ultrasound pictures. I love you Bug!
PS- Stop kicking me in the ribs at night- it's starting to hurt, young lady!
We're having a baby! Baby Bug is due on April 23, 2011 and we can't wait for him or her to arrive. This blog is meant to be for Baby Bug years down the line so that he or she can see what it was like before coming into our lives. For now, it's a fun way for family and friends to keep up on our pregnancy and know what's going on with our impending bundle of joy!

Bug's First Shower With LOTS of Surprises!
Dear Baby Bug-
You would not believe the party we were given this weekend!! It was your first baby shower and it was so much fun!! I left for Carrie's house around 11:30 on Saturday morning and was looking forward to a sleepover with part of our 342 Crew, Jess and Carrie. Little did I know that they had lots of surprises in store for us! When we got to Carrie's, her house was all decorated with baby girl things and ladybugs. Her tables had pink tablecloths on them with big black dots so that they looked like ladybugs and there were bibs, clothes, and baby items hanging from every nook and cranny of the house. I thought it was an awful lot for just the three of us, and that is when Carrie and Jess told me that there would be some surprise guests arriving in a short time. I had no idea who to expect, and it was so much fun to watch people arrive!
First to arrive were Kelly and Charlie. I was SO EXCITED to meet Charlie- he could be another potential suitor for you, Bug. He is going to be a whole year older than you once you arrive but he is a real cutie pie and it was so fun to see both him and Kelly. Next to arrive were Betty and Beth. They came all the way from home to help celebrate you! I couldn't believe it- they are such great friends! Next came Sherri and she brought baby Sammi whom I haven't seen since she was just itty-bitty. I appreciated them making such a long trip to come to the party and was so happy to see them! After awhile, the doorbell rang again and there was my Alpha Phi baby Katy standing in the doorway! I haven't seen her for YEARS and I was so, so excited that she was there. She is having a baby boy of her own just a couple months after you are due and it was so much fun to catch up with her and spend the evening. Finally, a little bit later, Mommy's friend and sorority sister Fathima came to the party. Fathima is so sweet and I haven't seen her since Mommy and Daddy's wedding. I couldn't believe that Katy and Fathima were there and I am just touched beyond words that they came. Your Mommy is one lucky lady!
Once everyone arrived, we had a delicious dinner of bread, baked chicken/grape/walnut casserole (for lack of a better label- it was amazing!) salad, with cookies and ladybug cupcakes for dessert. Jess made Mommy a yummy strawberry smoothie to drink and it was delicious! After dinner, it was time for gifts and you really made out like a bandit! I'm going to show the rest of the evening in pictures, but just know that I had an amazing time and have you to thank for allowing it to happen. Also, Mommy has the best friends but especially Carrie and Jess for putting all of this together. I only hope that you can find friends that are as near and dear to your heart as these girls are. We really missed Annie and Sara (the rest of the 342 Crew) but weather and the impending arrival of Baby Boy Wilking kept them in Indy for the weekend. Mommy loves ALL of her friends so much and is blessed that each and every one of them has a place in our lives.

Here is Mommy with her Alpha Phi sisters Katy, Carrie, and Fathima. A couple of the other A-Phis couldn't make it but hopefully we will get a chance to see Mia, Brett, Gina, and Lindsey soon!

Mommy loves her Northwest Indiana friends! Here is Betty, Mommy, and Beth. I am so sad that I didn't get a picture with Sherri and Sammi before they had to leave. :( It was so nice of all of them to travel all this way to celebrate our little ladybug!

3/5's of the 342 Crew! Jess and Carrie organized this whole shindig and made everything so very special. I don't know what I would do without these girls and without the missing links, Sara and Annie. I can't wait for you to meet all of these wonderful people, Bug!

Ladybug cupcakes! Carrie is so creative and these little creations were part of the yummy dessert we had at the party.

Look at all of these great gifts! Sue, Kelly, and Charlie gave you all of this cute stuff including onesies, "ruffle butt" pants, the most adorable ladybug outfit EVER, and a stuffed ladybug for your room. Charlie gave you the growth chart so that we can see how much you grow. He is such a great gift giver! :)

Sherri and Sammi gave you a Bumbo seat, Bumbo play tray, and a book called Mama, Will You Hold My Hand? This will come in so handy when you start eating and sitting up- I can't wait to put you in it and read you this very special story about always being together.

All of these great gifts are from Carrie, Jess, Sara, and Annie, AKA, the 342 Crew. They got you a Jumperoo, a second carseat base for Daddy's car, a Dr. Seuss book, LOTS of cute bibs, hangers, the ladybug lamp for your room, and a pacifier clip. Jess and Ethan also gave you a book called Someday and little stickers to put on your onesies that show how old you are for monthly pictures once you are born. Such great gifts for you, Bug!

Fathima gave us our Boppy pillow and lots of cute bows for your hair. My favorite part about opening this gift was that Fathima told me that her mom helped her shop for the gift and insisted that she buy something functional. Fathima agreed but wanted to throw the bows in to make it super cute! I hope she knows that both the Boppy AND the bows will get PLENTY of use!!

Look at all of this cute ladybug stuff! This gift is from Betty, Beth, Becky, and Baby Finn and included your ladybug crib mobile, ladybug nightlight, the cutest ladybug swimsuit in the world, and a hooded towel to keep you warm. Becky and Baby Finn also gave you a Dr. Seuss book which somehow didn't make it into the picture. These new nursery accessories really help to pull your bedroom together and the clothes are hanging in the closet, ready for you and the sunshine!

These books are from Jenny who decided to help you start your Disney book collection. These two books, Pinocchio and Alice in Wonderland, are two of her favorites...maybe if you're lucky, she'll read them to you some day!

This beautiful blanket was made for you by Betty. Mommy never ceases to be amazed at how talented and crafty Betty is and this blanket proves my point. It was made for you with love, Bug, and she even included a classic book Peter Rabbit! Beth and Betty came together and Beth gave you a copy of How the Grinch Stole Christmas to add to your rapidly growing book collection!

Katy and Baby Lesht have made sure that you are all ready for bath time! Katy gave you the whale spout cover so that you don't bump your little head on the bathtub spout and a fun ladybug bath toy scooper to hold all of the toys that will one day be floating around the bathtub with you. I hope you love baths, Bug...you won't want to get out until your fingers get wrinkly! I hope you are not jealous, but Katy was Mommy's first baby. Katy is Mommy's sorority baby and we have known each other for going on ten years now! It is so fun to know that I am having a baby and my baby is having a baby- what a great time in our lives!

You got another Bumbo seat from Mommy's friends Mia and her fiance Greg. Mia is one of Mommy's sorority sisters and she misses her very much. We aren't able to see her very much but are extremely excited for her and Greg who just got engaged over the holidays. They are very special to Mommy and I am hoping that we will get to see them before too long. It is awesome that we have two of these seats- I think that one will be great for home and the other will be just what Grandma needs to keep you where you need to be when you go to her house.

You know how I told you that I already have a baby? Well I also have an Alpha Phi grand baby and her name is Lindsey...she is the one who got you this awesome IU mobile (that plays the IU fight song!) and this "Future Alpha Phi" onesie. You are going to be prepared early on to become an Alpha Phi Hoosier (no pressure) and I have no doubts that if those two things are in your future, you will have just as much fun as Mommy did during college. Lindsey is such a special part of my Alpha Phi family and I am truly touched that she sent you these wonderful gifts. I never get to see her, but I hope she knows how much I appreciate it!

Here is a new picture of your crib with the ladybug mobile attached and your new ladybug friend waiting to play with you. I can't believe that you have all of this fun stuff waiting for you!

Bug's First Blizzard and the Arrival of Finn Hoyle!
Dear Baby Bug-
It has been a super exciting past couple of days, Bug! First of all, Baby Hoyle finally came out to play- he was born on January 31st and his official name is Finn Harper Hoyle. I can't wait for you guys to play together and for you to meet him when you get here in April. His Mommy and Daddy are so excited that he is here and he came just before the biggest snowstorm that we have had in a long time. Just so you have a sneak peak, here is his very handsome first picture:

I know that you don't know much about weather yet, Bug, but you should SEE the snow that we have had in the past couple of days. Daddy told me that the weather people were predicting a blizzard for this week and boy were they right!! It started snowing yesterday at about 1:00 and it just now let up over 24 hours later! Mommy's school never cancels for snow, but both Daddy and I had off school today and I already have a snow day for tomorrow! It's a miracle! I can't believe that these snow days happened on the year that I don't have to worry about making them up because I will be home with you! What a perfect time for this blizzard. Everyone that we know is home safe and sound and it looks like we won't be going anywhere for quite awhile. Here are some pictures from this morning:

Here is the view from your bedroom this morning. I can't believe how big the drifts are! I am writing this blog in the afternoon, and the bench by the tree has snow all the way up to the top of it! Rudy and Zoey are NOT liking going potty today!

That's your dad clearing the snow off the driveway! He is all bundled up and he was out there for HOURS. He tried to go to Grandma Carol and Grandpa Jeff's house to help clear their snow, but he got stuck too many times and couldn't make it all the way. We talked to them and they are doing fine, so hopefully Daddy can make it over there later.

Just when Daddy got all the snow cleared, it started snowing like CRAZY again! I don't know if you can really tell, but it is really coming down in this picture. This picture was taken from the living room window and you can see the neighbors trying to shovel through the snow!
On top of all the snow and the excitement of Finn's arrival, we also are worried about Grandma Cindy. She had surgery yesterday on her throat and luckily Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Walter and Aunt Sharon are all there to take care of her. She is doing fine right now and we are anxious to hear about what is next for her. We love her so very much and can't wait to see her again in a few weeks for your shower!
Well, Bug, I only hope that you will like the winter months because it sure does get crazy around here some times. We just can't wait until the weather gets nicer because it will mean that it's almost time for you to come out. I am so happy that you are going to be born in the spring when the weather is nice and we will have no problems getting you home. It will be so much fun! Until next time, stay snug as a bug in a rug in Mommy's tummy and I will show you new pictures of my belly in a couple of days. Mommy and Daddy love you!

Another Trip to Grandma and Grandpa's
Dear Baby Bug-
It was another great weekend- we were able to go and visit Grandpa Rand and Grandma Cindy again! Daddy had basketball and couldn't come, so Mommy left right after my blood work on Friday morning and was able to surprise Grandma Cindy at her school in the early afternoon. Since it was a surprise, Grandma Cindy's boss let her leave early and we were able to go back to her house and spend some time together before dinner. Grandma Cindy is waiting on some very important results from some medical tests and Mommy wanted to go home and spend time with her and Grandpa Rand to make the time go faster. We love Grandma Cindy VERY much and just want everything to be OK. Once Grandpa Rand was off of work, we went to Grossman's and ate dinner then visited Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Walter. It was a great Friday evening and Mommy loves being home with her family.
Saturday was a lazy day. We ran some errands and then got ready to go to Aunt Lou and Uncle Bernard's for a birthday party to celebrate January birthdays. Saturday was Uncle Bernard's actual birthday, so it was fun to celebrate with him. We were also there to celebrate with Lindsay, Mattia, and Jadison. Here are some pictures from the fun party!

Here's Jadison with her birthday cake being a little clown- she is such a funny kid!

Happy Birthday to Mattia! I can't believe she is 18 years old- I can still remember the day she was born. :)

Get ready to blow out the candles!!

Make a wish!

Jadison with her extra long Twizzlers- I've never seen Twizzlers that long before and boy did they taste GOOD!
Today we went to church, went to McDonald's with Grandma, Grandpa, Great Grandma, Great Grandpa and Uncle Terry and then headed home. Grandma and Grandpa had plans with some old friends for lunch, so once they left for Michigan Mommy left for home. It was such a fun weekend and everyone is super excited for your arrival. All of my aunts and Sarah plus Aunt Molly are having a shower for us in a few weeks and the invitations started arriving this weekend. I can't wait until we can go back for that shower and see everyone again. That will be the last time Mommy travels to Grandma and Grandpa's before you are born- holy cow!
Here are some new pictures of Mommy's belly. You are now 28 weeks old and continuing to grow! You are kicking like crazy every now and then and even Jadison felt you kick this weekend. Keep growing strong, Bug, and I will talk to you very soon! Hopefully to let you know that Baby Hoyle is here!

January 26, 2011...Becky's Birthday Party
Dear Baby Bug-
We had a whole lot of fun tonight and a welcomed break from this busy week- we went to Becky's house to celebrate her birthday! This week has been CRAZY and it was so nice to spend a night with friends and forget about work for awhile. We went to Becky's house and ate pizza, watched Glee, and caught up with friends. Becky and Randy are still anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Hoyle and Beth and Matt are getting closer and closer to the time where they will find out if they are having a baby boy or a baby girl. There are so many soon-to-be babies in our lives right now! Above is a picture of "all six of us"...Becky and Baby Hoyle, Mommy and Baby Bug, and Beth and Baby Saliga. :) Such great friends!!!

27 Weeks :)
Dear Baby Bug-
Happy 27 Weeks, Bug! Another week has passed and we are one more closer to meeting you. Not much has changed since last week besides my belly getting a bit bigger and you finding a way to constantly kick me in my ribs. I hope you're having fun in there! No matter where you kick me, it is always a welcomed feeling so although I know you don't feel bad about it, I am officially telling you that there is no need to start feeling bad now.
This week was extremely busy and it's weeks like this that make me wonder how I am surviving my job while being pregnant. It was the beginning of the new semester at school and it seemed like every single student on my caseload found a problem with their new schedule. It is fun to see the students, but this week was just a little too much. Your Mommy really had to practice her patience this week, Bug, but at least it is over now and I am hoping that this coming week will be a bit better. It is still going to be pretty busy, but the busy atmosphere makes the weeks pass fast which is fine by me!
Just a little update on your two potential future suitors Baby Boy Hoyle and Baby Boy Wilking: both are still waiting to be born and we should be seeing Baby Hoyle any day now. Becky had her last day of work on Friday and she is now waiting for that little guy to make an appearance. Mommy and Becky were able to go to a movie today and do some grocery shopping, and it was nice to be able to do those things "one more time" before Baby Hoyle arrives! Becky's birthday is this week and, as long as Baby doesn't come, we are going to hang out with her on Wednesday. As for Baby Wilking, he is giving his family a run for their money the way it sounds. He seems to want to come early but his Mommy Sara is determined to keep him in there for another few weeks! He is due on March 15th (I think) and that is still over a month away! I can't wait for both of these little guys to be born (healthy and on time!) and for you to follow soon after. You will have lots of new friends waiting for you and, once you are born, all we have to do is wait for Baby Saliga in July! It's such an exciting time right now for your parents and for many of our friends...the anticipation is out of control!
Well Bug, it's time for me to get going. Here are some pictures of my belly this week so you can see how much you've grown. Mommy looks a little sleepy in these pictures- please forgive me. It's getting harder and harder to sleep these days because of your kicking and not being able to get comfortable. I am going to go to bed early tonight with the hopes that you will be sleepy, too, and maybe I can get a few good hours of sleep. If you could cooperate, Mommy would appreciate it!

26 Weeks Down, 14 to Go!
Dear Baby Bug-
How are you doing in there? It's been a while since I've had a chance to write- work has been busy this week and there is a lot going on! Daddy had two basketball games this week and he had a really big win against Andrew on Friday. I was able to go and it was a very exciting game! Daddy's team won by only three points which almost gave me a heart attack. It will be fun when you are here to go to games with- I had to sit by myself this time and it will be fun to have a little bit of company.
This weekend has been pretty uneventful. Aside from Daddy's game, the only thing we've done is clean the house and go to dinner last night followed by church today. It's very strange to have "free" weekends- for the first 6 months after we found out about you we did not have one weekend that wasn't packed full with obligations. This gives us plenty of time to rest and to think about what needs to be done for you! You have been moving around A LOT in the last week and every time you kick or roll over it makes me happy. I tried to get your Daddy to feel my tummy to feel you but he told me that it is gross and weird. Don't worry, Bug- just because your Daddy acts like a 10 year old doesn't mean he thinks you're gross. I think he'll change his tune once you're out of there! :)
Here are some new pictures of Mommy with you in my tummy. You've been baking for 26 weeks now- it's hard to believe that there are just 14 weeks left. In a way, it seems like you will be here before you know it. But, with it being the middle of January, April still feels a LONG way away. Pretty soon, your soon-to-be best friend/future husband Baby Hoyle will be here so that will be very exciting! Even though Becky and I have been pregnant together, it seems like it has been a LONG time since we were both just talking about being pregnant. I can't wait until Baby Hoyle is here safe and sound and you follow him in a few months. It is going to be so much fun to have you here, Bug! Please keep on kicking and I will talk to you soon!

Excuse the space heater- our kitchen is EXTREMELY chilly!

A little bit bigger than last time!! I didn't notice before, but Zoey apparently decided to get in on the belly picture action.
